Airport Creative Campaign | Essendon Fields Airport + VIC Emergency Services
Nearly one in three aircraft movements at Essendon Fields Airport supports Victoria’s emergency services, yet the people and purpose behind these movements are not always visible.
Town Creative was appointed to develop an outdoor and digital campaign that would put a human face to the airport’s essential aviation role and highlight the lifesaving work undertaken every day at Essendon Fields.Airborne Heroes of Essendon Fields recognised the people working around the clock for organisations including Air Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police Air Wing and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
With nearly a third of all flights from Essendon Fields Airport undertaken by the state’s emergency services, the campaign aims to highlight the imperative work undertaken by our emergency service airwings.

Approach
We centred the campaign on the people behind the aircraft movements. Actual emergency service workers were photographed alongside the aircraft used in their work, turning a technical aviation story into something the wider community could understand and connect with.
Delivered across Essendon Fields’ outdoor and digital channels, Airborne Heroes invited Victorians to recognise these teams and share messages of thanks through #homebaseforheroes.
