Airport Marketing Campaign | Virgin Australia 20-Year Anniversary
Twenty years and close to two million passengers: that's what Virgin Australia has carried on the Ballina to Sydney route, growing it into Australia's eighth busiest intrastate route.
To mark two decades of that relationship, we created a campaign celebrating the milestone for both Ballina Byron Gateway Airport and Virgin Australia, one that did justice to the history while holding to the brand standards of a national airline.

Approach
We built the celebration around the people who had grown the route over twenty years, the crew, the passengers and the teams behind it. From concept to the day itself, we led it end to end, the event, the stakeholder coordination, the co-branded design and the content, all produced within Virgin Australia's brand guidelines. From our backyard to everyone's favourite inflight treat: Byron Bay Cookies are served on every Virgin flight, so we created an anniversary-branded edition and got them into the hands of the people who mattered, from Virgin's head office to the flight crew and passengers on the day.
Results
The anniversary was marked with a celebration bringing together crew, airport and council, and a campaign that carried it well beyond the day. We coordinated the media coverage across both airside and landside, and the event made prime time television news on Channel 9 and Channel 7.
